Work through this as you unpack. Keep the route through your home clear, and sort one manageable group at a time. Check current rental terms for borrowed equipment and current local instructions for recycling or disposal.

First, separate what belongs to someone else

Rental equipment goes through the agreed return arrangement. Do not give it away or place it in household recycling. For HiveBoxx handoffs, use Ready for delivery. Ready for pickup..

Give each material one next step

Use a fresh copy of these lines for each kind of material, such as a cardboard box, plain packing paper or a protective cover you own.

Choose the next step that actually fits:

Check before keeping or passing along

The EPA recommends maintaining and reusing suitable products and finding another user for items still in good condition. A named next use helps turn that idea into an action you can finish.

Check the receiving program

Before recycling, identify the service that will actually receive the material. Use its current website or contact route and check the exact item, rather than relying only on a logo or material name.

The EPA's common-recyclables guidance explains that acceptance varies locally. A plastic resin symbol does not guarantee acceptance, and plastic bags or film need a different route from ordinary household recycling. Check special items such as batteries, electronics and household chemicals separately with the appropriate local program.

Close the small open loops

A good finishing point is a clear destination for each group. Keep the supplies you will actually use, complete agreed returns and handoffs, and follow verified instructions for what remains.
